The OTA platform core tasks are:
1. To send all kinds of OTA provisioning: GPRS, WAP, MMS, Push-To-Talk, Mobile TV, Mobile Email...
2. Platform will send according to either Smart Messaging OTA 7.0 or OMA 1.1 specs fulfilling the entire spectrum of phones that accept over-the-air configurations
3. Platform allows operator to define several OTA profiles and map keywords to OTA sending actions
4. It will bind to your SMSC in 2-way mode using SMPP 3.3 or 3.4. It can bind to one or several SMPP connections if required in load-balancing mode to maintain constant connectivity
5. The OTA platform is provided with several interfaces:
- Consumer activated: a user can send predefined keywords and automatically receive the applicable OTA on his phone
- Customer Care activated: customer care agents have an interface to send the required OTA when a consumer calls in. The agent will select the required phone based on the consumer feedback and determine the over-the-air specs of the phone if it accepts one or more of the requested features.
- Bulk activated: you can decide to send a bulk activation of any selected OTA setting to an unlimited list of recipients
6. Platform will keep a history of settings sent to any MSISDN and the method of activation
7. Settings can contain a password to be trusted on the mobile phone. A primary SMS can be sent notifying the user of the actual password to be keyed-in
